Arobindo Banerjee Memorial Fund (ABMF)
A message from ABMF Chairman Basudev Banerjee: Late Shree Arobindo Banerjee was my paternal uncle. Both of us were born in a very poor family in a remote village called Dasghara in the Hooghly district of West Bengal, India. My father passed away at 32. At age 15, Arobindo forwent his formal education and took upon himself the responsibility of supporting our family of five as a local priest. His selflessness and service earned him the respect of the village community. His sacrifice enabled me to pursue my formal education at Dasghara High School. I eventually graduated with a Masters in Statistics from the Indian Statistical Institute. Out of profound respect for who Arobindo was, the encouragement he gave me, and the life of service he led, I have established this Memorial Fund for the Pathways to Success Scholarship. Through this scholarship, I hope to pay tribute to his legacy and empower future Dasghara students to pursue post-higher secondary education in the same way Arobindo did for me all those years ago.
