Application Details

  • All of the following must be submitted to the Selection Committee by July 31st
  • 1. Online Application or (Printed Application submitted to Headmaster's Office) including
  • A. Required and accurate demographic information
  • B. Chronological list of co-curricular experiences and achievements over the past two years
  • C. Essays
  • i. Prompt 1: What do you hope will change in your community? What actions will you take in your future career to make these changes a reality? (maximum 1 page or 500 words)
  • ii. Prompt 2: Tell us about your dream career and use the following questions to guide your response. (maximum 1 page or 500 words)
  • Why do you want to pursue your field of education?
  • Fast-forward to 15 years in the future: where do you imagine yourself?
  • What steps will you take after passing out from DHS to make this dream a reality.
  • 2. Supplemental Materials including
  • A. Academic Marks from all subjects from Classes 10-12
  • B. Proof of Admission to Institute of your choice
  • C. Test Scores such as
  • i. JEE/CAT/NIT Examinations
  • ii. B. Stat at ISI (Indian Statistical Institute)
  • iii. Engineering courses at Dhanbad, BHU, or any IIT
  • iv. Medical & Paramedical, or Pharmacy
  • v. CA, ICWA
  • vi. Computer Science (e.g. Programming, Animation, or Graphic Design)
  • vii. Law
  • viii. Any other technical or professional programs.

    Application Deadline
    Online application and all supplemental materials must be submitted to selections@abmfpathwaystosuccess.org No late submissions will be accepted unless otherwise communicated
  • August and September
    Applications Reviewed
    Completed applications submitted by the deadline will be reviewed by the Selections Committee. This committee consists of the Dasghara High School headmaster, DHS teachers from multiple disciplines and trustees of the Arobindo Banerjee Memorial Fund.
  • September 30th
    Scholarship Announcement
    The recipient of the Pathways Scholarship will be notified by their Headmaster and by email/phone

Application Tips

1. Start your application early. Although the deadline is July 31st, the online application, and many of the supplemental materials can be submitted far in advance of this deadline. 2. Please do not hesitate to contact the selection committee by emailing, we are here to help and are happy to answer any questions, comments, or concerns you may have. 3. Essay Tips: A. Write multiple drafts. We strongly recommend you do not complete the application in one sitting. Instead please write down and save your responses in a text editor (like Microsoft Word or Google Docs) or a physical copy (in a notebook) to be typed into the online application later. Please submit only when you are sure you have answered the questions accurately and to the best of your abilities. B. Ask your friends, teachers, or parents/guardians for their feedback on your application if possible. Oftentimes what may sound perfect to you, could be improved with someone else's comments. Please be sure to give any reviewer ample time to review your application, do not ask for feedback at the last minute. C. Use the resources at your disposal. Take advantage of your school's computer lab and the career center to research fields and careers that are of interest to you. Successfully communicating a clear career vision, knowledge of the steps one must take to accomplish these goals, and expressing a genuine commitment to improving the Dasghara community in time is the best way to stand out to the Selections Committee.
